A Brief History of Largo, Mryland

This theme park has quite a past history.  It was once called Wild World and consisted of mostly water rides.  Then it evolved into Adventure World where more attractions were added in addition to most of the previous water rides.  

In May of 1999, it opened as Six Flags America Theme Park in Largo, MD.  

Now there is something for everyone, kiddie rides, motion rides, roller coasters, spectacular shows, swimming, water rides, shopping, dining, picnic area, and games.  

This Maryland park has been open for business several months now, so I set out to see what improvements had been made.  I thought you would enjoy a virtual tour of my day trip. The park opens at 10:00 or 10:30 which is dictated by peak or off season and closes at 10:00 p.m. ET.  If you are planning to stay all day and enjoy the huge swimming pool, you might want to get there early, save yourself a chaise lounge, secure a locker, grab your towel and sunscreen or hat and you are set for the day.
